Worrying About The Wrong Things

November 30, 2008 Leave a comment

Were you thinking that Kanye West was ever worrying about how many albums he was going to sell in the first week? If this was Curtis, he’d be all over the album sales because his music career is slowly falling off the map. No one gives two shits about G-Unit. Kanye, however, simply cares about the music.

“Whether it sells as much as the last one, or way more, I feel like I am just successful in doing something felt really good about,” Kanye West told the Associated Press. Sometimes people don’t care about making the money. Sometimes people just care about the music. Tomorrow I’ll have a full recap of the Black Weekend, in which someone died and the people didn’t even care.

How are you gonna kill someone and still want the bargain? I’ll rant about it tomorrow.

Oh, and you can read the post (as short as it is) at HipHopDX.

A Cup x A Frybox x A Meatball For The Sixth Time

My bad for the absence of posts on Thanksgiving. Busy, busy day. Anyways, here’s something that should grab your attention. The 6th volume of Aqua Teen Hunger Force is going to be released on December 16th and it will cost roughly $30 dollars. I want this for Christmas (unless I buy it first). This volume has four unseen episodes which should be classic. Check the episode list after the jump. #1 In Tha Hood, G.

Toady is Turkey Day here in the States. As I spend Thanksgiving with my family and my beautiful girlfriend, what are all of you doing for Thanksgiving? What are you thankful for? Spill it.

Or… eat good food. You can be thankful for that. Or for football… be thankful for the NFL.

Gears 2 Title Update

November 27, 2008 Leave a comment

So today Epic finally released a patch to sort out the matchmaking in the game. I haven’t had a chance to download and test it yet, but this should be the first good step in fixing this game. Let’s hope they haven’t messed this up and we all get into games faster which will lead to all of us getting annoyed at this game even faster as well. It’s a win win, folks!

Hit the jump for the full changes

Drums & Drama: 808s & Heartbreak Album Review

November 27, 2008 1 comment

‘You wanna check into the Heartbreak Hotel… well, sorry we’re closed.’

In every artist’s career, they must take a leap in a new direction. Either they need a change of pace, they wish to appeal to a new audience, or they’ve been involved in something tragic. Kanye West applies to all three of these criteria as he releases his Pop Art album 808s & Heartbreak. With an tragic and, oddly, very successful year, could the Louis Vuitton Don create something that was… amazing? Read more…

Alternate Quantum of Solace Theme

That’s the video of the opening montage for the Quantum of Solace video game. That’s all well and good, but one thing you’ll notice is that they have a different song from the Alicia Keys & Jack White Song – Another Way To Die for their opening montage.

It’s a song called When Nobody Loves You by Kerli and while I do like the official theme, I have to say… having seen all of the Bond films, this song seems more ‘Bondesque’ to me. I dunno, I just prefer it over the other, but that’s just one man’s opinion. tell me yours.

If you like it, click me for a link to the download of the song.

Riot With Me

November 27, 2008 1 comment

So, courtesy of my monthly subscription to Spin magazine, I found out about an indie band called Ra Ra Riot. I was a little skeptical at first because bands with these kinds of band names usually sound the same. Except that I read the little blurb on them and how they have a cellist and a violinist.

Wait… a cellist? I love the cello.

Now, Yellowcard has a violinist but this violinist is just brilliant. She can play her ass off. The cellist is pretty damn good too (and not bad to look at). So I downloaded their album and my ears were treated to a delightful musical journey of drums, guitar, bass, cello, and violin. It was pretty damn good. After the jump is one of my favorite tracks on their only album this far The Rhumb Line, Winter ’05, and the link to their myspace page where you can hear more of them. Enjoy the riot.
